Due to the addition of two new teams in the IPL, all the players have been scattered into different teams, including Shreyas Iyer. Shreyas Iyer used to play for Delhi in the last few years but this year he has been bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for more money which has also made him the captain of their team.
Iyer was the captain when he was on Delhi’s team but due to Iyer’s injury last season, his captaincy was given to Rishabh Pant, and Iyer did not get a chance to do more captaincy. But in this year’s season, Iyer has been made the captain of Kolkata’s team.
Kolkata team started performing well as soon as Iyer was made the captain of the Kolkata team, in view of which former India coach Ravi Shastri has reacted.
Ravi Shastri said that “It is natural for Shreyas. Look at his aggressive captaincy, you will not feel that he is leading KKR for the first time. It seems that he has been leading the team for the last three or four seasons. And this is reflected in the clarity of his thoughts.”
Ravi Shastri said that it is clear in his mind what kind of cricket he needs to play as a batsman. Also, he knows that as a captain he has to take his team to the playoffs and then win the title.
